The single builds on this methodology and demonstrates ready growth in its four-and-a-half-minute push, a Sabbathian central riff brought to a charge like The Sword with an edge of Uncle Acid‘s recording technique and penchant for layering. From a completely different angle, if you told me Green Lung were an influence here, I’d believe it. www.theobelisk.net

If you like music that’s even remotely heavy, this EP is for you. It’s hard rock, heavy metal, doom metal, stoner rock, and so much more. My only question is this: WHEN WILL SONIC MEDUSA RECORD AGAIN? Kirk Gauthier

This searing, four-track split from Bog Wizard (Michigan) and Dust Lord (Colorado) pairs stoner rock riffs with hard fantasy themes. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 10, 2021

So I can't leave a long enough review to say everything I want. But I will say this, I love this EP. It's a great little follow up to times, and has just enough of a dynamic shift in sound to prove that Smoulder isn't a one trick pony with their first album's formula. This one really plays up the 70s prog aspects (DUST and Manilla Road influences definitely shine through even harder here). It's still Smoulder, don't get me wrong. Just a different side in some ways, all of which are good. playfulpooka
